The 4th Annual Family Entrepreneurship Graduation Ceremony was held on September 24. It was at this event that the 2016 E.E. Ward Entrepreneur of the Year award was presented to Richard M. Crockett, president, and CEO of Capital Transportation.
The ceremony was hosted by the National CEO Leadership Institute, which created the Youth Entrepreneurship Institute. The YEI is an organization aimed at turning middle and high school students into real entrepreneurs. Students generate business ideas, conduct research, pitch their ideas to a panel of potential investors and then launch their own businesses. The skills the students learn and develop include financial literacy, leadership skills, entrepreneurship, business economics, and innovation.
Curt H. Caffey, president, and CEO of the National CEO Leadership Institute, Inc., has 23 years of experience in the entrepreneurial educator field. He believes that the best contribution his organization can have to the community is to continue giving urban areas an outlet to develop into entrepreneurs, so they can experience the American Dream of Entrepreneurship.
We chose to present the 2016 E.E. Ward Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the graduation ceremony because we believe the values the YEI was founded on resonate with what the award is all about. We look forward to seeing what great things the graduates can accomplish. Congratulations to the graduating class of 2016 and to Richard M. Crockett
