On February 17th and 18th, E.E. Ward sent sales and management employees to Chicago for the 2016 PSA & PRO Sales Conference. This SIRVA conference allowed North American and Allied agents to gather for workshops, breakout sessions, networking, and advice from experienced leaders in the industry. Our sales consultants Shanna Crawford and Cole Johnson attended an additional day on successful selling techniques and walked away with new-found tips to employ in their department.
Paul Salmon, E.E. Ward’s Director of Business Development, reflected on the conference, noting how one of his favorite event speakers was a gentleman from the CEB Sales Leadership Council who spoke on coaching associates, sales management, and selling techniques. Paul himself had the opportunity to participate on a panel for a sales management breakout session, which addressed moving from good to great and setting goals to work towards. North American Van Lines also provided expert opinions on time management, effective utilization of internal platforms, and the importance of LinkedIn for businesses and company employees (to learn more about maximizing your use of LinkedIn, click here!).
Salmon believes that the conference was critical to any sales person wishing to continue improvement in the field and admired the comradery amongst peers that was present. He ironically noted that some of the best ideas and conversations from the conference were generated in hallway interactions and just as valuable as the formal networking sessions. Overall, E.E. Ward employees learned how to sustain best practices and continue to stay ahead of the curve. We’re already looking forward to next year’s conference!
