They came, they played, they donated.
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, Brii and all her friends met at The Athletic Club of Columbus, where the Brooks family held her fifth birthday party. But it wasn’t like most five year old’s birthday parties that you might often see. Brii wanted to use this occassion as her first initiative to raise money for those in need.
By raising awareness about families in need at the YWCA Family Center in her birthday invitation, Brii was able to collect donations instead of gifts from her friends and family in celebration of her birthday. By collaborating with E.E. Ward, she was able to not only celebrate her birthday by cherishing runway walks with Cinderella herself but truly realize at such a young age what the gift of given to others really means by collecting gift cards, baby wipes, baby wash, baby bottles, and more. By gathering useful items for parents and children in need who are currently seeking relief at the YWCA shelter, Brii gained an experience far superior to that are getting gifts this birthday.
