The Central Ohio BBB offers programs to motivate young entrepreneurs to become future leaders. Currently, there are three active programs to support this initiative: Laws of Life Essay Contest, Students of Integrity Scholarships, and In Pursuit of Ethics Training Modules.
The Laws of Life Essay Contest is a way for 6-8th graders to be honored with a cash reward and a certificate signed by the governor at an awards banquet. The essay consists of the student’s “laws of life” which are their core values or ideals by which they live by. This contest is designed to inspire students at a young age to evaluate what is truly important.
The Students of Integrity Scholarship award is an opportunity for high school seniors to receive scholarship money for high academic and leadership accomplishments along with strong integrity. This selective award is only given to one student per high school in the 21 county area the BBB represents.
The In Pursuit Ethics Training Modules are videos of ethical scenarios anyone might encounter. It is a way for current and future employees and leaders to practice evaluating ethical situations. It is essential to understand what to do in morally questioning instances because if not handled correctly it could be the downfall of a company or an individual.
The Central Ohio BBB is working hard to inspire future leaders in the community and reward those who have shown excellence in morality and academics. Education and recognition of young leaders is extremely important.. BBB Board member and E.E. Ward President, Brian Brooks is dedicated to supporting these motivational programs.
