On August 29th, E.E. Ward was one of the sponsors of the Youth Entrepreneur Institute and the Franklin County Youth Lemonade Day graduation and awards ceremony. This program was created in 2013 by The Youth Entrepreneurship Institute, which aims to “educate, engage, and empower young peoples (ages 13-19) who want to become successful CEOs and/or Presidents of their own companies.” The Institute had 8 youth entrepreneurship program graduates in the 2015 class and over 350 lemonade day youth registrants spanning 43 Franklin County zip codes and 158 different Franklin County schools. Lemonade Day gives youth the opportunity for hands on learning through the planning and creation of their own lemonade stands in various areas of the city. With the YEI ten week program, participants learned about business environments, products, nutrition, public safety, strategies, customer service, finance, marketing, teamwork, and other valuable lessons. The YEI program has been and will continue to be a vehicle of hope, dreams, and inspiration for the community. E.E. Ward is proud to continue support of this development and the educational growth of Franklin County’s youth.
