#TipTuesday – Spring Cleaning Tips Part 6
Welcome back to E.E. Ward’s Spring Cleaning Tip Series! If you missed last week’s feature on cleaning your windows for spring, check it out here. Today’s cleaning focus will be time saving quick cleans to freshen up those everyday household items that may otherwise be neglected but could use a spring refresher.
- The Coffee Maker – those who use their coffee makers daily most likely do not clean them as much as they should be, as they can be a hotspot for bacterial activity. A quick and easy clean for that coffee maker is a vinegar rinse, to be added to your routine once a month! Simply fill the reservoir with a few tablespoons of white vinegar mixed with water, run it, and run it once more with only water to rid of any lingering vinegar smell.
- The Washing Machine – despite popular opinion, washing machines are not self cleaning, and could possibly be housing lots of harmful bacteria. Fortunately, you can easily freshen up your washer by running it with a combination of hot water and a quart of bleach and opting for the sanitize setting.
- The Shower Head – take a good look at your shower head next time you’re in the shower and you may find that it is pretty dirty. Luckily, it’s a super easy clean. Fill a sandwich bag with white vinegar and attach it to your shower head with a rubber band and leave overnight. You’ll wake up in the morning with a shower head that seems brand new!
