Tips for Organizing Your Home

Wastebaskets! We don’t think that the kitchen and restrooms are the only rooms in the home that require trash cans. While a trash can certainly wouldn’t be appropriate in the living room, a tasteful wastebasket that matches the décor of the room would be a useful addition to the area – placing wastebaskets in these areas will help keep the rooms free of unwanted trash and debris.

Labeled Bins! It’s easy to toss the mail and other items on the foyer table when arriving home, but after a while this will turn into a cluttered mess. Set up labeled bins at the entrance to your home and encourage everyone in your family to use them accordingly. Once everyone gets the hang of it, you’ll never have to look at a mess of papers and mail again.

Toys! When you have children, the toys can easily get out of control. Designating one area of the home for toys will help keep the rest of the home free from clutter that comes from toys and other play things. If you have ever stepped on a lego while barefoot, you’ll appreciate having all the toys in one place. And don’t forget to include baskets, bins or toy boxes to keep all the toys off the floor.

Storage! Make use of areas like under the bed or behind the couch for storage. You can purchase tubs with lids that are specially made to slide under the bed. You could even find trunks that will accessorize your living room while storing unused blankets and linens. There are so many creative ways for you to store unused items without letting them clutter your home.
