4 Tips For Moving Heavy Furniture
Disassemble! Before you try to move anything, it is best to make sure that your furniture pieces are going to fit through the door. You may find that certain items will need to be disassembled in order to fit. If that is the case, be sure to contain and label all screws and other pieces that you’ll need for reassembly. |

Unpack! It’s also important to unpack the furniture before you try to move it. It may seem easier to not pack up the things in your dressers or cabinets, but this will make the furniture too heavy and cause you to injure yourself. Drawers should either be removed from dressers prior to moving or secured so they do not fall out while moving. |

Going Down the Stairs! Moving heavy items down the stairs can be tricky. One trick that we have found that works well is using boards to create a ramp. Do not try to move heavy furniture down the stairs without someone there to assist you. You can get seriously hurt trying this alone. |

Safety First! The most important thing you should keep in mind when moving furniture is safety. If a piece of furniture feels too heavy to move alone – don’t! Call a friend or ask a neighbor if they can help you for a few minutes. And remember, moving his all in the legs! Keep the pressure off your back! |
