The whole process of packing and moving your goods can become quite a mess, especially if you were to accidentally pack away your moving checklist and notes (whoops!). If there’s one item that we always have tabs on, it’s our smartphones. Consider using your beloved phone to organize your move in a way that can be accessed anytime, anywhere, using these helpful apps.
Moving Day– If you’re packing your goods yourself, this may be the app for you. It helps you catalog and keep track of all of your boxes without using an internet connection. The app utilizes a system of code-scanning and label-making, and these labels can be easily printed from your computer or your mobile device using AirPrint. You can also email reports from the app in case a box is lost or damaged, though the movers at E.E. Ward in Columbus can keep track of your boxes for you to ensure that no items are lost or damaged.
My Move – This app can help you plan and stay organized for your move. It allows you to take notes throughout the moving process and features a moving checklist, though you can also check out this old-school paper version made by us here at E.E. Ward.
FloorplanFinder- When you’re having trouble deciding which furniture will be able to fit in your new home, which furniture should go where, and if you need to invest in some more pieces, you might consider giving this app a download. It allows you to pan and zoom through the floor plans that you have made on your computer in 2D or 3D modes, in order to make them easily presentable.
WalkScore- Wondering how close your new house could be to grocery stores, restaurants, public transit, and more? Check out WalkScore to find out which of your potential homes are near all of the places that you love and are important to you.
Zillow– This is the perfect app to let you search for homes using your smartphone. You can browse through home listings nearby on a map and swipe through pictures of the different listings. The app also allows you to view foreclosure lists and receive notifications when new listings hit the market and drop in price, among many other options.
Load some of these apps onto your smartphone and you’ll be all set to pack and move to your new home!
