Packing & Moving Beauty Products

Beauty products can easily be damaged during the moving process, and when you’ve put time and money into your collection, you want to make sure your products arrive to your new home perfectly intact. E.E. Ward has a few tips to make sure your cosmetics collection doesn’t end up at your new home as a colorful mess.

Place a Cotton Ball inside cosmetics with lids so that the product does not have room to shake around and break, resulting in the crumbling of your favorite eye shadows.

Keep In Mind that the heat could melt your products. Keep any products that could melt and are near and dear to your heart with you as you travel to your new home. You may also consider using a cooler to store your products if you have a lot of items that you’re worried could melt.

Place Plastic Wrap on the tops of any liquids, such as foundations or lotions, that come in a container with a screw top. Remove the top, place the plastic wrap or cling wrap on top of the opening, screw on the top, then pull up the wrap and tie it around the cap in order to minimize spilling.

Use a Hard Case to put your products in. Items in a soft bag are more likely to get damaged. If you don’t have a hard makeup case, use a plastic container such as Tupperware.

Separate Items such as lip glosses and foundations and place them in separate Ziploc bags. Not only will this make them easier to sort later on, but if one product happens to leak, the rest of your items won’t be covered in the product.

Pack Essentials with you so you don’t have to go sorting through your items to find your makeup as soon as you get to your new home.

Use Newspaper to fill in any empty space that you might have in your case or container so that your products are less likely to move around during the move.

Don’t Forget About Nail Polishes that could open and create a colorful, smelly mess. Tape the tops closed and make sure they are packed tightly in a container with newspaper or bubble wrap.

With a little extra time and care, you can make sure your beauty items will be moved to your new abode in pristine condition.
