As mentioned in blog 1 of this series, our corporate relocation officially occurred the weekend of April 16th and 17th. We moved around 50-60 truckloads of product to our new Grove City location, 95% of which was moved with our own equipment and 100% handled by our own team. Our new location is located just 9.4 miles, or a quick 15 minute drive, from our old establishment. To view our trucks on the move check out this video.
One of our top priorities during the move was continuing to provide excellent customer service and attention to our clients. We tried our hardest to minimize the disruption of normal activities or reduction in the quality of our offerings. Customers were informed of our move through sales contacts and operations picked right back up the following Monday at the new location.
Rich Hanschu, Commercial Services Consultant for E.E. Ward, noted how the move went very smooth, perhaps since we have done this many times before. He also mentioned how we followed the rule of “if you don’t need it, don’t move it”. The move provided a great opportunity to purge items that we weren’t utilizing and make room for newer and more applicable products. E.E. Ward frequently performs corporate relocations and heavily assists in keeping companies’ employees informed and engaged throughout the process. Our services also travel a range of distances, so don’t let a long distance keep you from reaching out to us for assistance with your commercial relocation. Each move is unique and presents its own challenges. It’s our job to overcome those challenges and turn a stressful situation into a seamless transition. Look out for the upcoming blog on E.E. Ward settling into the new location that we now call home!
