We are less than a month away from our second annual event, Laps for Lunches! Come out on August 12th to Grand Prix Karting for Go Karting, a silent auction, meet and greet with Jeb Burton and to help end food insecurity in central Ohio. We benefit from 3 amazing organizations that help hungry families in our county including Eldon and Elise Ward Family YMCA, YWCA Family Center, and St. Phillips Episcopal Church Food Pantry. Today we are going to spotlight the YWCA Family Center. To learn more about the YMCA click here.
The YWCA family center is a temporary shelter for homeless and struggling families. They provide shelter, 3 meals, and a snack to all of their clients. The YWCA helps families at their lowest points and builds them up so they are able to provide for themselves when they are done with their stay. We had the pleasure of speaking with a few of the staff members at YWCA and interviewed a few of them.
In the video, a volunteer speaks about a woman who came in with a child and a baby on the way. She had nowhere to go and after her stay, she was able to get a house, stay healthy and build a life for herself and her family. Volunteer Coordinator, Casey, talks about how important the 3 meals and a snack are to their residents. Not having to worry about where their next meal will be is a huge blessing.
We are proud to support and give back to this amazing organization and we encourage you to donate and buy tickets to Laps for Lunches to support them as well! Get tickets and read more information on Laps for Lunches here.
