On Saturday, May 21st, The King Arts Complex held it’s 29th annual anniversary gala entitled “A Heritage of Healing”. This year’s event honored African American health professionals of Columbus who have dedicated 29 plus years of service dedicated to keeping the community healthy.
Over 600 individuals attended the celebration, many of which were at the VIP reception where over 40 doctors and dentist were presented with custom-made kente stoles in honor of their service. The celebration of our healers and the electrifying performance by Midnight Star made for an amazing night under the stars!
E.E. Ward President and King Art’s Complex Board Member Brian Brooks and his wife, Dominique, attended the celebration. The evening had extra special meaning for Brian as his cousin, Dr. James F. Scott III, was one of the honored physicians.
Thank you to the staff and sponsors of The King Arts Complex for creating such an extraordinary event.
We cannot wait for next year’s 30th annual gala!
