As we celebrate Black History Month, we also celebrate the birthday of the NAACP, which was founded February 12, 1909. The NAACP was founded to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination. It was one of the earliest and most influential civil rights groups in our country.
