E.E. Ward and North American Van Lines (NAVL) would like to take a moment this Veterans Day to recognize all the men and women who have served our country to keep us safe and free. Two of E.E. Ward’s own veterans, Jeff Johnson and Cole Johnson utilize Veterans Day as a time to reflect. Jeff served in the U.S. Army for 3 years in the 82nd Airborne Division during peace time. He sacrificed time with friends and family to train for weeks at a time, making 40+ plane jumps in the middle of the night. Jeff added “I am proud of my service to my country. The small sacrifice I made is worth it for our country. Being a veteran is great pride in your country”. Both men are proud to have served our country and we are extremely thankful for their sacrifice and safety.
We are also honored to support veterans through NAVL’s relationship as ‘official mover’ for The Gary Sinise Foundation. The Gary Sinise Foundation aims to assist severely injured U.S. Veterans through numerous beneficial programs, including the creation of Smart Homes for veterans who have lost multiple limbs. These homes include speciality furniture that increases mobility and functionality for wounded vets. Sinise himself noted that “North American Van Lines is the final piece that ultimately helps turn a house into a home” for these veterans. As of early 2015, NAVL had already completed 20 deliveries of this furniture and is eager to continue support through many more moves. Thank you again to all of our nation’s veterans and those who assist them upon return. Our nation is free and beautiful thanks to your protection and bravery.
