Brian Brooks, the owner of dedicated Columbus moving company E.E. Ward Moving & Storage, attended Time Out on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Time Out is the signature fundraising event for A Kid Again, during which attendees get a glimpse into the lives of families raising children with a life threatening illness.
The event at the Ohio State University Schottenstein Center Basketball Facility began with an invitation-only Tip-Off Reception that featured bourbon tasting, exclusive photo opportunities and a performance by Karli Whetstone. The following event, which began at 6 p.m., featured a gourmet dinner for guests to enjoy along with accompanying silent and live auction items to raise money for the organization.
A Kid Again’s mission is to foster hope, happiness and healing for families by helping them regain a sense of normalcy though adventures that offer moments of solace and a sense of control over their lives. Unlike many other “Wish” organizations, A Kid Again is more focused on providing ongoing, nurturing experiences that complement, rather than overtake, day-to-day lives. The E.E. Ward team is proud to be an ongoing supporter of this organization along with many others including Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation, The King Arts Complex and In Christy’s Shoes as part of an ongoing commitment to giving back to our Columbus community.
Owner Brian Brooks and his wife, Dominique, sit with Ohio State Basketball coach Thad Matta during a post-game press conference. Matta, along with his wife Barbara, was an honorary chair for the Time Out event.
