E.E. Ward Moving & Storage of Columbus are proud to have recently joined the Central Ohio African American Chamber of Commerce. We are the oldest Black-owned business in the United States and have been providing Ohio residents and beyond with the moving and storage services they need since 1881.

Our Story

E.E. Ward Moving & Storage has its humble roots as being a stop on the Underground Railroad nearly 140 years ago. With only two horses and a wagon the original owners created a legacy that would continue to thrive for generations. Now, E.E. Ward is one of the most respected companies in the industry with countless awards, an excellent record of customer satisfaction, and a commitment to keeping the legacy strong.

Supporting Our Community

E.E. Ward has always held the belief that in order to have a business in the community, you need to be involved in the community. We are affiliated with several community projects and organizations that promote health, safety, and wellness throughout the Columbus region. We are proud to be affiliated with:

• R.I.S.E (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) – providing mortgage-free smart homes for wounded veterans
• Laps for Learning – a fundraising event that we hosted to raise money to be able to provide swimming lessons for children in Columbus.
• Pillar Awards Sponsored by Medical Mutual & Smart Business – this award recognized organizations who provide exemplary service in the community. We have always held the priority of employing people from within the community.
