Beatty and Small Business Council Meet With Mayor Michael Coleman for Annual Exchange

E.E. Ward co-owner Otto Beatty serves on the Executive Committee of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council.  The Chamber’s Small Business Council (SBC) met with Mayor Michael Coleman for their annual exchange in January at the Mayor’s office.  The SBC shared both successes and challenges they have experienced as business owners during 2013.  Mayor Coleman provided an overview of where the city will focus its energy, including the ongoing work to build up the Franklinton area and turn it into a creative space for young, creative professionals.

The interesting theme that ran through the Small Business Council is that during 2013, 75 percent of the businesses represented experienced both major growth and revenue generation.  They said the turnaround was due to a better economy and are looking forward to a great 2014!
