The annual Arts in the Alley event will take place September 17-18 in Grove City. The event kicks off with a parade on September 17. Since E.E. Ward just moved to Grove City this past year, it will be our first time participating in the parade! We wanted to make a great first impression and that is why we are having one of our semi-trucks in the parade. The parade’s theme is “Coming up Roses”. With that in mind, E.E. Ward knew it wanted to decorate the truck to fit the theme.
To involve the community in our decorations, we hosted a decoration day for kids. The day before the parade, kids were invited to come and decorate the banners that would be placed on the truck. Arts in the Alley is about showcasing the artistic talents of Grove City, so what better way to embrace this message than by letting kids show their art to the entire parade! Besides the banner, the kids made roses out of tissue paper and colored E.E. Ward “Kids To-Go Boxes”. These boxes provide a convenient place for children to keep their personal belongings while moving. They are also fun to color!
Our decorations couldn’t have turned out the way they did without the help of the kids. We appreciate their help and look forward to an awesome time at the parade.
