1881 Apparel is now available to be purchased at Celebrate Local, located at Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio. Celebrate Local is a shop that showcases Ohio-made goods from over 300 Ohio small businesses.
Dominique Brooks, founder of 1881 Apparel, is excited to see where the retail launch will take the brand. “Finally, fashion meets history with meaning! I am elated to evolve the E.E.Ward story into an apparel line that can inspire others through fashion. 1881 Apparel offers statement pieces that articulate the remarkable Ward legacy with a clean, modern and Americana twist,” she said.
1881 Apparel is inspired by the legacy of John T. Ward, who started Ward Transfer Lines in 1881 with just two horses and a wagon. E.E. Ward Moving & Storage Co. is currently the oldest black-owned business and has been in Ohio for 137 years. 1881 Apparel allows dreamers and entrepreneurs to wear a piece of history that inspires them to write their own script and celebrates E.E. Ward’s history and legacy.
1881 Apparel will also be available for purchase at the Celebrate Local location at Liberty Center in Cincinnati, Ohio mid-July.
